Installation Walkthrough
Before applying any custom theme, create a restore point.

I recommend using Theme Signature Bypass in "files\patcher" as a theme patcher. Or try UltraUxThemePatcher (https://www.syssel.net/hoefs/software_uxtheme.php?lang=en) instead.

These themes rely on the correct settings of OldNewExplorer (http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170375-oldnewexplorer-118/).

Install StartIsBack++ (http://startisback.com/#download-tab) to skin the start menu and taskbar.

Start orbs are in "files\orbs". Select the theme's start menu and an orb in the StartIsBack++ configuration and click apply. The "files\orbs_downsized" directory contains start orbs modified to work with the small taskbar buttons setting.

Winaero Tweaker (https://winaero.com/download.php?view.1796) is the application for tweaking the rest of your system.

Aero Glass (http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/72751-Aero-Glass-for-Windows-10-RS1) can be used for additional window transparency.

Install the fonts included in the "files\fonts" folder. Type ctrl+a then right click, click "install" with "no" and "do this for all current items" checked.

Merge the registry tweaks in "files\rc_context_menu" so that it's possible to switch themes from the desktop right click menu.

Merge a system metrics registry file in "files\system_metrics" so borders and fonts can be adjusted.

I use the AltDrag app in "files\transparency_app" for mouse and keyboard shortcuts and window transparency.

Logout or reboot your pc at some point.

Cut/paste the contents of "themes" into your themes folder ("C:\Windows\Resources\Themes").
Apply a theme via "Control Panel -> Personalization" from the desktop rc menu "Personalize (classic) -> Theme Settings".

Hey guys, glad you have found this collection useful.
Please let me know if the themes are missing something or have a bug. So far I have taskbar jumplist menus not being themed, and taskbar preview image hover playback controls being messed up.

Looks like these themes won't have to be updated much or at all for Fall Creators Update. All that's needed is a few images replaced per theme and changing each theme's shell folder. These themes can even be safely used as they are on Fall Creators Update, but the shell32 control panel images won't be there due to the shell folder.

You're right, basically the same thing happened when initially going from RS1 to RS2 ... No real changes in the msstyles. Actually now that I mention it, I remember there was one weird thing going from RS1 to RS2 ... the aero peek images showing on top of windows after clicking the x button lol there usually is something weird that becomes apparent after a more extended period time spent with a theme on a new build. So far though everythings seems the same in RS3 vs RS2, just need that updated shellstyle.

Alright, yeah I'm not too worried about it. I just improved all the themes yesterday with an update as well btw. Hopefully you'll be all good when it comes to running them. The way I see it, the worst case scenario would be needing a new shellstyle sometime in the future, but even that seems unlikely.

You could try uninstalling ONE, rebooting and reinstalling ONE. Make sure it's the latest version.

aio worked, and like i said it depends on the 10 install. when i say one time one thing works and another time something else works i'm not talking through my ass like one member who i won't mention likes to claim. now everything looks good. sound, themes, sci ipack all look good. only thing i'm seeing is i'm not getting the default sci pc icon, easy fix luckily.

Cool, I forget to mention the aio, will pass that rec along to the next member having problems. UxStyle hasn't been reliable since Anniversary Update. dhjohns uses Theme Signature Bypass in the aio now.

If you are in the CONTROL PANEL classic PERSONALIZATION section and themes are not showing up you have not copied them to the correct directory. Where did you put your themes, can you provide a screenshot?

I removed the sounds on purpose to cut down on file size (including them would've at least tripled it). I also don't really care about sounds. The themes are still set up to have them, you could download the Windows 7 theme that it's imported from and move the sounds folder into your theme folder.

Ok mate I went ahead and made those small taskbar orbs for you or anyone else using the small taskbar. I can see how it might have been causing you problems :cunning:. Thanks for the suggestion. Bear in mind the small taskbar sometimes has some clock issues, and the downsized orbs' quality will be slightly degraded compared to the original due to scaling the image down in size.

i have a program called soundpackager if your interested. it's older but works nicely with 10 as long as you set the compatibility to win 7. it has several sound schemes plus i've added one. i'm more than happy to update the install note and upload it. just let me know.

I take no responsibility for the behavior of third party patchers. I tested this theme on my install with Theme Signature Bypass and it opened fine. You may want to try disabling secure boot on your pc and installing Theme Signature Bypass instead.

actually no an uninstall only fixes part of the problem, not the entire problem. from what i saw there are at least two different things being broken. one gets fix with an uninstall while the other stays broken. right now the only items i have in are SIB, ONE, the sci 7tsp icon pack.

Hey all, I'm still planning on being less participant/absent on the forums. I wanted to mention I'm using Windows 10 on my desktop PC now. It's helping me find bugs in any themes and it also feels more stable using Windows again (I haven't used it on my hardware much since Windows 8.1). Linux is pissing me off sometimes, I think one of the main reasons it does is the update model for ubuntu releases. But then if you don't use Ubuntu you are always using a minority Linux distribution with less support. Either way, I think it's best for me to use it on one computer and on a second computer to use Windows.

I fixed a few problems with the fonts included, also noticed bugs in: the ASUS gold themes taskbar background, HUD Machine White White start menu logoff context menu, Elvira start menu search background (SiB++ somehow fixing it's own bugs).

I also find an excellent app for transparency and keyboard/ mouse shortcuts I included with the archive now and also my configuration of the audio player foobar2000. That foobar2000 config was the first app I put some work into, I use the latest one. If I find something wrong with a theme, I can upload a fix for it for the archive in a few seconds and not have to explain to the forum every time what it is I've been working on in the download.

I take no responsibility for the behaviour of third party patchers. Theme Signature Bypass has always worked for me. On my computer I use Legacy boot mode and disable Secure boot. If these options are available in BIOS, surely they're the best for using a custom OS.

Looks like you're set to small taskbar mode. In Windows 10 CU onwards the small taskbar's clock can't be properly skinned, so it doesn't really show up properly in the small taskbar mode. If you want the clock text to show up properly you need to use the large taskbar mode. Otherwise you can substitute it with T-Clock [which doesn't always skin exactly the same as the theme would normally make it due to the way it gets the image], or you can improvise and use Atomic Alarm Clock [won't use the .msstyles skin but has some of it's own that seem to suffice for me when I use small taskbar mode. Sadly of the two, Atomic Alarm Clock is not free, while T-Clock is].

Please don't pm me for theme port requests. If you want me to add a new theme I'd rather it's asked in here or on the forums. Keep in mind porting is a long and detailed process from Windows 7, I personally think there are enough themes in here. The image limit for a post is almost at its max.

And another thing, try to post any issues you're having pertaining to a certain theme in it's respective thread instead of dumping your problems in here. :Fright:

There is a fair bit of work involved with making them support high dpi so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Hello, it looks like you have everything right going off your screenshot. The only icons that get changed by the theme actually are just the desktop icons. To change the rest you'll need to find a preferred icon pack to use with your theme of choice.

Hello! I have a quick questions, I have some applications that menu fonts are blue for some reason, I supposed it is because of the theme applied, but it got worse when I installed the IconPack.

Just wanna know if there's any way I can make the fonts on those programs, e.g. VirtualBox, AcePlayerHD, etc turn back to original black color.

I don't get this part:

]Start orbs are in "files\orbs". Select the theme's start menu and an orb in the StartIsBack++ configuration and click apply. The "files\orbs_downsized" directory contains start orbs modified to work with the small taskbar buttons setting.
