that did the trick. the file i downloaded from two different sources did not have instructions nor the uxtheme.dll replacement in them. i think i might have to create a new uxthemepatcher thread and include this. thanks

The software developer, probably for safety, but unnecessarily puts in blocks to run his code on "unsupported" versions of Windows, which are usually the newest Insider Previews. You can get around this by patching a supported version, and simply copying and saving the patched files. But, there are still some issues such as the Computer Management Console. You can also use third party themes with the uxthemesignaturebypass.dlls. If you have UEFI you will need to disable secure boot to run it. This is probably a good option in any case. If you are running BIOS there is no issue. You can grab uxthemesignaturebypass from http://www.glass8.eu/download. It is the first entry under others at the bottom of the page. But, the best option would be to download MY PROGRAM which contains both uxthemesignaturebypass, and ultrauxthemepatcher options for installing third party themes. It does this all automatically, and with no fuss, and always, always, always works. Why you can even have both of them installed in a matter of seconds. It works from Creators Update through, and including RS5 without any problems at all. finally this info because sending some of my works patch fix for ultrauxtheme patcher and no problem with mmc because last patch fixed this problem
problem is bad version of iPack because included non supported files for your system here is the problem

Thank you for the new ipack. I can confirm after deleting the old one and using this one i don't have any more issues with mmc. Fyi for anyone using bitdefender, it pretty much blocks every installer of ipcak and patches etc...gives a false positive saying it's malicious, had to disable to get all working good. Thanks again.

sorry but this is not the problem because icon pack not have unsupported files for windows replacing only .ico files without .MUI
