Installation Walkthrough
Before applying any custom theme, create a restore point.

I recommend using Theme Signature Bypass in "files\patcher" as a theme patcher. Or try UltraUxThemePatcher (https://www.syssel.net/hoefs/software_uxtheme.php?lang=en) instead.

These themes rely on the correct settings of OldNewExplorer (http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170375-oldnewexplorer-118/).

Install StartIsBack++ (http://startisback.com/#download-tab) to skin the start menu and taskbar.

Start orbs are in "files\orbs". Select the theme's start menu and an orb in the StartIsBack++ configuration and click apply. The "files\orbs_downsized" directory contains start orbs modified to work with the small taskbar buttons setting.

Winaero Tweaker (https://winaero.com/download.php?view.1796) is the application for tweaking the rest of your system.

Aero Glass (http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/72751-Aero-Glass-for-Windows-10-RS1) can be used for additional window transparency.

Install the fonts included in the "files\fonts" folder. Type ctrl+a then right click, click "install" with "no" and "do this for all current items" checked.

Merge the registry tweaks in "files\rc_context_menu" so that it's possible to switch themes from the desktop right click menu.

Merge a system metrics registry file in "files\system_metrics" so borders and fonts can be adjusted.

I use the AltDrag app in "files\transparency_app" for mouse and keyboard shortcuts and window transparency.

Logout or reboot your pc at some point.

Cut/paste the contents of "themes" into your themes folder ("C:\Windows\Resources\Themes").
Apply a theme via "Control Panel -> Personalization" from the desktop rc menu "Personalize (classic) -> Theme Settings".

Also, I am having a hard time porting Razorsedge themes, whenever I replace the the shell folder with the new one for RS5 when I test the theme I always get an error in the msstyle file. Do you know what is causing this? I don't have this issue on other themes.

I have tried replacing the entire shell folder and also just the shellstyle.dll file and both return the same msstyle error.

Odd, I've never had any issue running RS4 themes on RS5. They all run flawlessly for me.

Just updated and found out there is a new dark mode for explorer now, it effects the navigation pane in all custom themes that use anything other then the default system metrics colors, you will need to add 2 new classes to the msstyles at least..

Unknown > DarkMode::ExplorerNavPane you will need to add the fill color and text color for the navigation pane in explorer to this new class in Dark Mode

This only effects custom themes that use a different color then the default Window color and WindowText color.

Not sure if there are any other areas effected by the new Dark Mode, hopefully any other new classes will inherit the correct properties, I will see about making some import scripts and an updated class map for the new changes when I get some time.

I'm sorry to hear all the themes need updating. But I'm not surprised. If you want to update my imported themes go ahead, I will say though I doubt any of the themes you update will be as good as the ports I made originally.

I've been using creators update still, I only use the Black Edition themes by Mr GRiM

I recieved this same message in my pm box, I replied by explaining by posting on 10 topics etc and being able to download the theme pack. I also explained he had to make sure to check his windows version and when he becomes able to download that he must only download after reading the version and instructions to match his windows. Also to make sure he has patched his system to allow themes to work.

Im on windows 10 Pro ver 1809, and when i follow the instruction in the first post with:

1. Theme Signature Bypass
2. OldNewExplorer
3. StartIsBack++

Have even tried to apply : Classic Appearance
The only thing that change is the desktop icons (my computer/network/trash bin/start orb)
Don't even get close to the once on picture.

What am i doing wrong, if someone could show my via VNC would be great

you can try run UltraUXTheme patcher if is all files really patched
or if you are really on 100% DPI Scaling

It didn't patch these to files. (read that i should take ownership of the 3 files, i did that)

yes this is the problem because your windows is not patched
you need patch all files first before using custom themes
please try run again UltraUXTheme patcher as administrator and patch your system

please unzip this file
select and cut Nvidia and Nvidia theme file
run Theme shortcut and paste files here
use right click on you desktop and run theme with Personalize (classic)
