Windows 10 21H2 OS Build 19044.xx
Microsoft is continuing with the small function updates for Windows 10.
The Enablement Package, KB 5003791, turns Windows 10 2004, 20H1 or 21H1 into Windows 10 21H2 19044
still based on the “Vibranium” code base.

Windows 10 will be supported until October 2025
and it looks like Microsoft will continue on the basis of Windows 10 19041 until then.
Since Microsoft has now officially released the Enablement Package in the Release Preview channel
all upcoming updates that are provided for Windows 10 2004 to 21H1 will also be for Windows 10 21H2 from now on.

Hmmm, I installed the .cab and rebooted, now it says I'm on 21h2 but it all still looks the same lol?

What exactly changed and where can I check to see if it actually updated and didn't just change the version number?

KB5007186: released with major bug fixes
Microsoft is now rolling out this year’s second last security update for Windows 10 version 2004 or later.
The update is rolling out via Windows Update.
Additionally, Microsoft has also published direct download links for Windows 10 KB5007186 offline installers.

KB5007186 is part of the company’s usual Patch Tuesday cycle, which is a popular term for the day when new security updates are released for Windows.
This update patches security vulnerabilities and includes previous fixes as well.
That’s because Microsoft gathers older fixes into the latest update, which is downloaded automatically.

If you’re on May 2021 Update, you should get Build 19043.1348 when you download and install this update.
If you’ve already upgraded to version 21H2 aka November 2021 Update, you’ll receive the same set of bug fixes and improvements
but the build revision would be Build 19044.1348.
90878
For those still running version 20H2, they’ll get Windows 10 Build 19042.1348.
In case you’ve version 2004, Microsoft says this would be the last security patch for consumer editions of the OS version.

If you check for updates today, you’ll get the following update:
2021-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5007186)

Microsoft pointed out again yesterday that the Windows 10 21H2 (19044)
will receive the last security-related update in June 2023 for the consumer versions (Home, Pro, Pro for Workstation and Pro Education).
The non-security updates have already been discontinued.

Anyone using a business version (enterprise, education) will automatically receive updates via Windows Update until June 2024.
The Windows 10 21H2 LTSC will make it to January 2027 and the IoT Enterprise to January 2032. So there's still a while to go.

Those who are still using Windows 10 21H2 can easily switch to Windows 10 22H2 with KB5015684.
As a result, the consumer versions will then automatically receive updates until May 2024. The business versions will then be secured until May 2025.

Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 11.
But those who have not yet switched will certainly continue to use Windows 10 for as long as possible.
