Hi, Im using "Windows 11 Pro 21996.1" - Windows Feature Experience Pack 321.14700.0.3

Whenever I try to install the startallback setup it says "This version of StartAllBack is not intended for this Windows version."

I even tried the recent version 3.2.1 but still same error, Could someone please tell me on which windows version it works?

Or will there be any update to work with my windows version?

I have been using this for almost a year now, and I must say, it is the best.
Just one thing though, at times, when reloading the explorer, the icons reset their place in taskbar, and the taskbar from middle moves out to sides. If I restart explorer once more, it corrects itself. This has been from version 3.4.X onward.

Many thanks Moon, i came from the Windowblinds world, but as there products are still not working right in Win 11, i discovered Themes and joined this site. I work on my PC for a living, so struggled without Desktop customization. StartALLBack was my saviour, and even though i should not attempt to use Win 10 Themes on Win 11 i had a go and purchased Tron Legacy Theme, installed it on my Win 11 Enterprise, It worked really well but with a small issue that does not Bother me at all, Looks Fantastic, Now i am Themes Till I Die Ha Ha. Thank you for all the work you do here helping others including me, Great site , Fantastic Mods who are very helpful.
PS, i had spare SSDs to attempt this, and would only suggest any one else attempting it, do the same, It can Go Wrong.

With the latest versions of SAB, in the right-click contextual menu of the start menu, there are Powershell entries


For those who have customized this menu and removed the Powershell entries (cmd and other), is it possible to remove them (SAB puts them automatically)
Tihiy indicates that it reads the contents of the directory linked to this menu (MS would have modified something) but Powershell is not there

I Installed the update yesterday and i had to uninstall it and go back to the earlier edition as my right click stopped working on my mouse. Uninstalled the update completely using Iobit uninstaller, installed the previous one , problem solved. I tested it twice with the same issue. Any one else have a any issues.?

The last two updates some how disables my right click on my mouse, i right click and nothing pops up, then things go weird with icons getting bigger and vanishing. I re install the last update 3.5.7 and things go back to normal, i was hoping this update would work and solve this issue, any one else having issues with it.

Has anyone had any issues with the last two updates of StartAllBack on Windows 11.

On my system, once i install the update, i completely lose my mouses right click menu. I go back to edition 3.5.7 and the right click menu comes back. Surely others may be able to help me with this one as its very annoying. Any help would be most welcome on this issue, as i need to get it sorted out, cheers for reading.

try to run clean install of StartAllBack as Administrator and not update existing version

Decided to try out a few things, it went very badly so it gave me the opportunity to do some formatting and re installing (not Intentional), lost my whole 4 SSD Multi Booting System, needed to walk away from it and come back with fresh eyes. All back to normal now, so cheers for the help, your help is always very useful to us who love to customize.

You can get your themes here, StartAllBack works Alongside UltraUXThemePatcher and there are are other Theme sites on the net, not sure if i can mention them here, but Google Windows 10 Themes, and you will ,see lots of info about using Themes. Remember using themes carries a risk, first learn how things can go wrong so you will be able to react should something happen. Only use Themes that are listed for your build of Windows.

I had the same problem today and I couldnt find the cause
I tried to change a couple of things in startallback
in the end the problem was not in the startallback application but in the explorerpatcher/oldnewexplorer application
these three applications cannot use different scripts, otherwise the right-click will be temporarily disabled
if a person clicks anywhere with the right button, his desktop is always automatically restarted
make sure you don't accidentally use explorer patcher together with startallback/oldnewexplorer
if you have a problem, the best thing to do is to uninstall the explorerpatcher/oldnewexplorer application
then install or update the startallback application
then you can install explorerpatcher/oldnewexplorer again

You can get lots of Themes here whilst you are learning, plus if you have any issues, the Mods and admins are fantastic, giving support when needed, just make sure you follow instructions for the themes you use as compatibility is important.

no no it doesnt work like that
after every update and upgrade to a new version all of the new files are automarically overwritten to default
after each new update it is necessary to rewrite all these files back manually and save them
because all of this replaced files are not part of this application or its original installation (UIFILE , .dll , .cfg)
its exactly like when I overwrite the default files in the Windows system using the 7tsp application
after updating with windows update some of this owerwritten files are automatically overwritten back to windows default
thats why its terribly complicated but I havent found another solution yet

Well mostly because the Win 10 version isn't being updated any more from the looks of it and since the last 2 releases had issues I'm stuck on v2.9.17.

But I didn't really think the Win 11 one would work, that dude who argued about it with me made me doubt it though lol.

I have the new version but last time I installed it (on my previous PC) it messed everything up and I had a hell of a time getting rid of it. I think a couple of us posted about the issues in the StartIsBack thread back then too. So I'm not trying that again and that's why I'm staying on .17 :Afraid:

Hmm strange then. I don't remember what the issue was exactly, I just know I had one hell of a time getting W10 to work again. I think maybe constant explorer crashes? Not sure though, it was when .19 came out and on my last PC. I'm not so sure I want to try that again on this new one. And of course it was a legit StartIsBack and only 1 of them was installed.

Edit: You made me curious so I took a dive into the issue. The old download I had from here for .19 had a different hash than the one available here now and the original one from the StartIsBack website. So I took a chance and updated to the newly downloaded version again and all is fine. I think the 1st one must've been removed because it had issues, or for some reason the .exe inside the .zip got corrupted? Either way it was 1 kb size difference too.

Now I'm on the latest and everything works, so thanks for telling me that it works for you which caused me to investigate :happy:

Working fine on my fully updated Win 10 too. Startisback has never given me an issue, but StartAllBack has on Win 11, Moon thought it may have been a conflict with Explorer Patcher settings as my right click menu became screwed up and due to this i had to stick with an older edition, become fed up of problem solving so did a reinstall of Win 11 and now it updates fine and with no issues on Win11.
I think i actually prefer the layout of Startisback were it allows you to choose a Start Menu, Taskbar and start orb separately, but must look to the future so StartAllBack for Win 11 is the way to go.
