So I've run into a weird issue after getting a bigger monitor. Not just with this theme but all of them but since this one is what I've been using I figured I'd post here.

I got myself a shiny new 34" curved monitor which of course has an insanely high resolution (3440x1440) and made reading text pretty difficult.
So I changed "Scale and Layout" to 125% and Font Size as well. That worked fine (except for some apps that refused to oblige) until I tried setting a custom DPI of 130%. Windows insisted I log out and now my start menu (on ALL themes) looks like in the 1st 2 screenshots - HORRIBLE!

Even after setting everything back to 100% and rebooting the issue is still there (even after a reboot) ... the only Start Menu option I can set in StartIsBack that is at least useable is the "Plain 8" one from my 3rd screenshot.

Does anybody have an idea how I can fix this? I mean the Plain 8 Start Menu is ok but I'd much rather have the pretty ones back that go with the themes.

Mine WAS working fine until today too when I started messing with the DPI lol - and yes, I'm on latest version 2.9.16 but haven't tried to uninstall/reinstall ... mostly because I don't remember how/where it gets the license from and I don't want to lose that. I'm not sure a reinstall would fix that anyway, but I don't know?

IF the black screen issue were to happen, couldn't I simply unplug the 34" and plug in the 22" one and all would be good, since that little one can't do those high resolutions anyway? Or would Windows 10 be dumb enough to keep the higher DPI settings despite the different monitor? :worried:

i only recommend using only the supported themes if you are using higher DPI as 100%
and no if you unplug your current monitor and plug new with new resolution this do not resolve your problem
if you are new with this UWQHD 3440 x 1440 monitor i recommend create a new restore point before using any new theme
then you can run this restore point from your bios without any lost of your data
for me is the UWQHD 3440 x 1440 and UWQHD+ 3840 x 1600 the best monitors in the world

Oh I agree, the monitor is great, just takes some getting used to. But I can't deal with the tiny fonts in high resolution with standard DPI, I'm over 60 and need something I can actually SEE lol.

Too bad that hooking up a smaller monitor won't solve the black screen issue. I'll have to go through my downloaded themes and get rid of any that weren't ported by you, and I'll just make a restore point now, just in case. I'm almost certain all my current themes were done by you ... but I'll check anyway.

hi nimueh any w10 theme will work or any new ported 1s will work on version 21h2 as long as they have been ported correctly they will work also make sure you use the correct screen display otherwise the theme wont display properly

Thanks J4M3SX019 - but my question wasn't about the Windows version, it was about themes working on higher DPI since றѳѳղղįqվદ® mentioned a black screen issue and that only themes she ported would work.
2 of the themes in my list I can't find here any more and the others listed aren't in her "ported thread" so I'd rather be safe than sorry which is why I asked her if those will be ok :)

They're not in your "ported" subforum but all made by you so I'm hoping they'll still work? The other 2 I can't find at all now (searchterm too short I think), so no idea if you made them. Would be nice if they all still worked, for now I'm staying on this Hardwired Ryzen since I KNOW that works :D
