Windows 11 23H2
The insiders start with the 23000
The insiders testing the Windows servers are currently using the 25099

Actually, we had hoped that we Windows 11 Insiders would also get involved.
According to our information, however, we will receive the Insider Build 23000.
The 000 stands for any number.

Those version numbers make sense too. Because the Windows 11 21H2 22000 stands for the year 2022.
The new Windows 11 22H2 will also come with the 22xxx.
The first insiders in the dev version will then start with the 23xxx (probably Sun Valley 3), which will be released in autumn 2023.
It's the same with Windows Server. This will then officially appear as Windows Server 2025.

For the normal user, this would be a relief compared to the confusion of numbers (19041, 19042, 19043, 19044) under Windows 10.
Even if the respective year was already used there for e.g. 20H2, 21H1, 21H2. At the start of Windows 11
I had already wished that Microsoft would introduce these build numbers so that they also match the year of release.
So (not only) my wish was heard.

It won't be long before the dev insiders can switch to the first active development build for the later Windows 11 23H2.
I'm just curious to see whether Microsoft will offer these again in parallel, i.e. as an optional update.
Or whether the 23xxx will be installed right away.
So if you prefer to stay with the current 22H2, you shouldn't forget to switch to the beta channel.
