IMPORTANT: With this build getting released to the Dev Channel, the window closes for you to be able to switch from the Dev Channel to the Beta Channel
since your device will be on a higher build number than what is provided in the Beta Channel.
If your device installs this build and you decide you want to switch, you have 10 days or until we release a newer build
to the Dev Channel to roll back and switch to the Beta Channel.
If you do not roll back within 10 days or your device takes another new build, the only way to switch to the Beta Channel
is to do a clean installation of the released version of Windows 11 on your device to switch to the Beta Channel.

Windows 11 22H2 (Sun Valley 2) has been completed.
This makes Windows 11 22621 the official final version ("RTM").
From now on there will only be updates and the 22621.1 is the "original version", as we always call it.

This means that the Windows 11 22H2 is ready, but not yet distributed.
It is currently still in the beta channel, but will be coming to the Release Preview channel a little later.
If you are curious, you can switch now or leave the beta channel.
However, Microsoft will not announce the official release until summer
and only then will everyone else receive Windows 11 22H2 in waves via Windows Update.

Now that we have found out that the Windows 11 22621 is the final version of the 22H2 (Sun Valley 2)
we can now comfortably use the Windows 11 23H2 25126.1000

Windows and its designations and code names can get confusing.
Anyone using the current Windows 11 (22000) has installed an “initial release” codenamed Cobalt.
The Windows 11 22621, which will be released for everyone in August
is called Sun Valley 2, codenamed Nickel. Hence ni_release.
The dev insiders have since installed the Sun Valley 3, codenamed Copper.
Currently the ISO is marked as rs_prerelease.
Then, when the Windows 11 23H2 reaches “RTM status”, it will be referred to as cu_release.
But there are still a “few” months until then.

Known Windows folders which are available by default in the navigation pane are no longer displayed under This PC to keep that view focused for your PC’s drives.
When you navigate to folders syncing to OneDrive such as Documents, Pictures, etc.,
the address bar displays the correct path to help bring clarity when your folders are on the cloud vs when they are local to you.

As we know, Microsoft has integrated tablet mode into the system.
If you use a 2-in-1 device as a laptop
for example, you can activate the “Compact view”
under Display in File Explorer and the distances between the icons will be smaller.

But nothing has changed in his address bar

Starting with today’s build, Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel will notice that the name of the branch shown in the desktop watermark has changed to ZN_RELEASE.
Just like we have done in the past, we can change which branch we flight builds from.
As our engineers work in development cycles internally, we may prioritize work being done in a specific branch and may need to move Insiders between branches.
We are treating these builds the same as we would treat builds from the RS_PRERELEASE branch.
As a result of this change, Insiders will notice that some features have been removed temporarily.
We look to bring these features back to Insiders in the future.
And builds from the ZN_RELEASE branch should not be viewed as being matched to a specific Windows 11 release.
