Fix: Error code 0x8007000D when trying to activate Windows 7
If when you try to activate your copy of Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008, you get an error message: The data is invalid. Error code 8007000d, then you may want to apply this Fix it solution.
msfixit Fix: Error code 0x8007000D when trying to activate Windows 7
This error can even be encountered if you run slsmgr -dlv or slmgr -ato from a command line.
The System account by default has Full Control permissions to the registry path-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root and any subkeys.
If those permissions have been altered for the ‘Root’ key or any subkey(s), we would see the error code 0x8007000D.
Download Microsoft Fix it 50485 from KB2230957. https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2230957/
