Graphics upgrade, any suggestions ?

I have to upgrade my graphics card as my current one is singing it's last song i think, did not think the card had been much hurt by this stuff I had with the fan suddenly stopped working and the PC crashed. But it seems like it have gotten a bit of a kick in the nuts really, hehe
so I need a new one.
The problem is I'm on a budget, so cant by any thing really
i got a MAX $500 i can use, any of you that has a good suggestions to me on some ATI cards?
