Here is my first Windows 8 theme








A little bit about the theme
I calling it beta because it is my first Windows 8 theme and I wasn't able to do my normal extra's this time.
Except for a clock-which is for 64 bit system's only.
Your system needs to be patched for 3rd party themes first
I'm using this patcher Windows 8 Ultra UXTheme Patcher - WinMatrix
There is other patchers available but they are known to cause issues when some other customizing softwares are also being used.


The theme it's self uses a modified version of Mr.Grim's Equinox msstyle,so if you have the extra's for that
theme installed things like the Control Panel images will change automatically when you switch to this theme.


There is no installer for this theme so you will have to copy the g8 beta folder and g8 beta.theme file to
your Windows Resources\Themes folder.
To change the clock navigate to Windows\System32 and find your timedate.cpl.Take full conrtol of this file and rename.
Then copy the new custom one I provided over.You will either have to restart Explorer or sign out before the clock will change.

The Start Menu is StartIsBack,the one from Stardock isn't 100% themeable
The icons used in the screenshots are Token by ~brsev on deviantART
And were applied using a combination of IconPackager and manually changing them.

The Rainmeter skins in the preview are My Stock Meters and Peeled by me

Great work mate, this is a nice alternative to the High contrast themes, by the way Windows 8 themes can run with high contrast enabled by adding it to the .theme file.

Dude, this theme is beautiful! I really love it, I can't stand bright UI's and using High Contrast (what I'm doing now) is ugly and irritating.

I have two suggestions I'd like you to consider.

1. Could you change the button text? That blue is gorgeous but white on blue is not so visible.
2. Is there a way to skin the tabs? In the first screenshot, the tabs in the folder properties dialog are hard to tell apart which is selected/unselected (General, Sharing etc Perhaps a blue line at the top or something to indicate the selected tab would work?

Otherwise it's stunning, keep up the good work!
