You misunderstand, it is not a Windows sound. Disabling the sound scheme doesn't do anything. This beep is always at max volume unless I hit the mute button, then it is a slightly muffled beep. It is a hardware sound, which can only be disabled (as far as I've found) by disabling the playback device to the main speaker. Also my current sound scheme is a customized version of Equinox's Scheme.
