Translucent Nav Buttons?
I'm trying to create translucent navigation buttons for explorerframe dll, but I can't figure out how. I'm trying to use alpha channels in photoshop to configure the transparency, but it seems like an all-or-nothing affair. I know there's a way to get semitransparent bmp's, because a bunch of default system bmp's are. Unfortunately, photoshop isn't very descriptive when it comes to a bitmap's alpha channel properties.
In Windows Style Builder, I can make translucent nav buttons for some of the windows (like the network setup wizard) because it used png's instead. I'm attaching the png nav button, and I want to make the bmp button look the same as it. I've google this for hours, and nobody gives a straight answer, it seems...

you can use the "Theme Resource Changer"

but if you want to create bmp images ... create images in png ... then format it to bmp with the "BMP Picture Maker"
