This method that i have found however seems to remove it completely:

How to uninstall Windows 7 from your Windows 7 / Windows 8 Dual Boot computer:
    1) Backup your recent Windows Windows 8 data files to the USB drive.
    2) Download and install EasyBCD in Windows 8
    3) Use EasyBCD ‘Edit Boot Menu’ option to change the ‘Default’ OS to Windows 8 and remove Windows 7 from the boot menu.

Change the Timeout Option from 30 seconds to ‘Skip the boot menu’.
    4) Verify that you can boot to Windows 8.
    5) Open Disk Management and delete the Windows 7 partition.

    6) Use Partition Wizard Home Edition to extend the Windows 8 partition to include the "Unallocated" space formerly

    occupied by Windows 7:

Note: There is also a bootable CD or bootable Flash drive versions:

Some of the features and Functions include: Create partition, Delete partition, Format partition, Resizing a partition,

Move partitions, Restore Partition after accidental deletion, Convert partition, Explore partition, Hide partition,
Change drive letter, Set active partition, partition explorer (View contents).
Note: To complete any task use the 'Pending Operations' box located in the lower or top left.
