Windows Style Builder Free or Help With an Edit

Im using the HUD RED by MrGrim for win8.1
I have a few visable style issues making it very hard for me to red a few things.
I have images included for demonstration on what I need edited so Visuals are easier for me and maybe some others.
I will not share with anyone unless otherwise approved by MrGrim first.

I know most or all of you designers are using Windows Style Builder and well I dont have it and cant afford it at this time, but I do have ResourceEditor and was able to do a few things.
What Im trying to do now is update background color to black and text color to maybe same red or a brighter red like displated in screenshot of controlpanel.

First image is textpad (some other softwares display same background and text color, hard to read.)
I want to update the background and text colors to match the colors from controlpanle like in second screenshot.

and also as seen in the first screenshot, some windows display the application text or title at the toip with a background, how can i remove the text or the background please.

    Hi bud---

As for the grey background (like in the 1st screenshot of Notepad), here's the thing: You can definitely change the background....but it will affect other areas of the theme and make some text which is black and other dark colors unreadable. And some of those areas which use black text are unchangeable, the text can't be changed to another color besides black. That's why Grim used the grey background for this location in WSB.....so that those areas that have black text hard-coded (as in dropdowns in the address bar, some Help menu text, etc.) can be read.

As to your other issue: The text colors DO match with those in your cp. The grey background just makes them appear a little different. If the background in Notepad was black, it would look the same as in cp....but again, you wouldn't be able to see the black and other dark text that is hard-coded into Windows.

I dont really know what areas it would effect. I use textpad and notepad for my work and well havnt noticed any fonts that are black sept only in browser when typing in input fields.
Just know its hard to read when trying to edit or code new content for my web development. I at this time have to switch from default win8 theme back to this in order to work.

If this is the effect you're looking for, with the black bg, just be aware that it will change to black other areas in the theme (like places in the system-clock, some menus, etc.) also to black, which will necessitate changing yet other parts of the theme....leading to quite a bit of work if it's to be done right.

I simply don't have the time to do it for you, my friend. That's the main reason I'm not making any 100% YN1F-created themes myself; I stay covered-up with HVACR work, and am home only sporadically. You really ought to think about investing the 20 dollars or so into getting yourself a copy of WSB. You won't regret it. Even though I'm not making themes, I do plan to in the future and I at least can use my copy to tinker and learn for now. Take my advice: find some way to buy yourself a copy of WSB. After your purchase, you'll have access to the Style Builder forums, to tutorials and plenty of maps and help from others there. It's well worth 20+ dollars. I had my father-in-law pay for my copy with his card, and I just paid him in cash.

Sorry I can't help you with this issue right now, bro. Maybe someone else will be able to spare the time and effort.
