I don't know much about GTK2 or GTK3 themes. This is a mod of Arc-Dark by horst3180 [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. If there is some part of the theme you find unreadable, let me know and I'll see if I can find the source of the error.
The only change I made in order to upgrade the Arc themes was to fix the size of some tray icons (a bug in some gtk3 themes, explained to me by XRevan86 [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]).
Other than that I just attempted to change some backgrounds to black rather than slate.

says it will not look right because the required theme engine adwaita is not installed. how do i get that theme engine.

Search for adwaita in your package manager and install it?

got it fixed the actual Adwaita theme and manager don't work on 16.04 but there's a work around to get past that. i just had to install a theme set and then edit the Adwaita index.theme file to use the TraditionalOK metacity theme and it works fine now.
