Some Tools You May Need
Uxstyle, Theme Signature Bypass and UltraUxThemePatcher
UxTheme service hook - Visual Theme Signature Bypass
ONE
OldNewExplorer is the Windows 10 (and Windows 8.1, and 8) shell extension / tweaker which can undo "improvements" to file browsing made in newer Windows versions. Everything is optional for your liking.
For best results, use these settings:
StartIsBack++ for Windows 10
What's hot about StartIsBack on Windows 10 now?
Full taskbar skinning!
Ability to reduce resource usage by disabling newer Start menu and Cortana processes from prelaunching
Ability to use adequately sized (32x32) large icons and larger start menu button on taskbar
Modern icon glyphs on Start menu right hand pane
Modern blur, drop shadow and immersive context menus for start menu
Fully dynamic DPI aware start menu and configuration app
New modern style with round user picture
Lots of new minor additions and tweaks
Recommended Prior to Applying Custom Themes:
1.) Create a Restore Point
2.) Install Fonts included in the "Extras" folder
3.) Apply System Metrics included in the "Extras" folder and logout or reboot
4.) Install an iPack of your choice to change the system icons
5.) Select the Theme's Start Menu and Taskbar in the StartIsBack++ configuration. If it's not a visible option to select the theme's start menu, apply your custom theme first!
6.) Copy a Start Orb from the "Theme" folder to a new location, rename it, then open the StartIsBack++ configuration, click Add... select the Start Orb and click Apply.
I take no responsibility for anyone that bricks their system, use custom themes at your own risk
WARNINGPlease make sure you download the correct file according to your version of Windows!

I have a question about the IPack your using on this theme, it seems like a bunch of win10 ipacks were pulled for one reason or another. I had the hud blue ipack on my machine when it updated from win7 to win10 and now I am stuck with them, for some reason when it updated to win10 it removed the little icon to remove them in the add and remove programs pannel. i am going to do a clean install soon and am just trying to find out what all Ipacks are out there that work for win10. i have found a fiber ipack, a magnum ipack and tech ipack but looks like the hud machine ipacks are for win8 and 8.1 only, but it seems like when i see peoples pics of the theme they created they have different ipacks then what i find. so I am just asking around what one the theme creaters use so i can pick from those
thanks for your help with this

firstly, a fresh install isn't exactly needed to fix you're issue.
to restore default widows 10 icons, the best option would be to open Command Prompt as admin and run sfc /SCANNOW
Let that run and follow the instructions it gives when it gives them [usually nothing too big]. This will restore all windows system files to default microsoft versions. Then just get the ThemeSignatureBypass.exe from Mr GRiM's post here: https://virtualcustoms.net/showthread...oGlass+Windows
You may or may not need to disable Secure Boot via your system BIOS for it to work. Then you can apply your themes again [just make sure you get the ones for your build of windows 10], and get the icons you want from the thread for windows 8/8.1/8.1.1/10 iPacks. Those will work on all builds of Windows 10. Your Win7 ones got left like that because they weren't for Win10 and corrupted your icon cache when you updated before removing them. That's why the uninstall option isn't available.
It's always best to remove customizations before updating if there are major changes like build updates and changing from win7 to win10 indefinitely. Otherwise that happens. It's usually an easy fix, though.
The themes will have extra reqs such as Old New Explorer, and many even StartIsBack++. You can find those from the links provided. If the links aren't provided however you can get Old New Explorer from here: https://www.msfn.org/board/topic/1703...wexplorer-118/
And StartIsBack++ from here: https://startisback.com/
If you decide to try out AeroGlass [optional, but some of us like it. I personally don't go without it,], you can get that from here: https://glass8.eu/
Or you can use Mr GRiM's unofficial installers from the same page as the ThemeSignatureBypass.exe [just make sure you get the right one for your build if you use those].Last edited by Nimbi; October 13th, 2017 at 03:40 PM.
