How to get custom themes to work?
Hello all,
I'm having issues getting custom themes to work properly.
About a year ago I've applied some themes and sometimes they seemed to work and later (usually after reboot)
some menus didn't show correctly anymore, or it had that problem immediately after applying.
I gave up using custom themes for some time and today wanted to try again, but now only the background and custom cursor seem to load.
The windows themselves are not changed at all... Tried several themes for different builds.
What exactly do I need to do to get them working properly?
I'm using:
* UltraUXThemePatcher_3.3.4
* StartIsBack++2.6
* THE OLDNEWEXPLORER FOR WINDOWS 8.1 / WINDOWS 8 (X86/X64) <- Is this an issue for themes?
* W10 build 1803 (currently)
Anyone can help me out?
Greetz,
DTProductionZ

you may already know all this if so sorry but...
looks like you got what you need, make sure you put the themes (the .msstyles file + the folder associated with it) in your Windows\Resources\Themes folder. then you can right click your start menu button, click properties to open start is back, go to apperance tab then there select the start menu/taskbar layout you want and browse to where the start orb is (somewhere in the themes folder) and add it and select it.
you should be good after that.
i'm also new to this but to me sounds like you're just running the theme file to apply it where it sits not putting it in themes folder and then applying it.Last edited by awol_lsd; July 25th, 2019 at 07:58 PM.
