....I mean on the Windows 7 side.

As some of you saw my postings of yesterday of my Windows 8 setup (I also posted a screenie at DA), y'all know I had myself another fling with the new OS.
Fixed her all up, nice and perdy......

But, alas, my 2nd fling with Win8 is now over like that relationship I had in Jr High with the really psycho pill-poppin gal. Over. O.V. Done and Gone.
I'm on to better thangs!

Don't get me wrong, I did like some of the cool features of Win8, and most of the good stuff I said yesterday about it I still mean. But, it just wasn't my cup of tea, man.
So, I re-installed my wonderful, faithful Win7.....and now we're gonna get married. No more flings with that sl-t Windows 8.

If you have to do all this crap to it, like trying to get the start-menu back, the Win7 type explorer buttons, etc., then why not just stay with Win7 to begin with, right?!
Plus, I am in NO WAY cool with all the ways MS and Big Brother can use W8 to SPY on me! Having to sign-in with my MSN account was a red-flag in itself, but then
I notice that I have an extra network-drive called "YourNumbr1Fan@live.com"....and inside this drive are copies of every picture and video on my personal computer!!!!!
WHAT???!!----Now I don't do a lot of naughty stuff on the computer, or the Internet. But still, HELL NO. I don't like that noise; not knowing whether I'm sharing pics and
whatever with the world. I don't want just anybody having pics of me and Yvonne, pics of other family & friends, my videos, etc. Who knows what weirdos could do with
your personal stuff! I already have this nut at DA who has created several different accounts there just to leave vulgar and insulting messages on my page. Has issues with
me and everyone else here at VC.
Of course I block the guy every time, and report him (what good that does).
But, like I say, I just don't like the way MS designed Win8 to be so obscure in the myriad ways that the OS handles all these darned "social" apps and networks, most of which
run full-out by default on 8. Location-finders for your local weather, Facebook feeds, MSN contacts, etc.,.....etc. Just to name a few.
I'm a firm believer that the powers-that-be (government, not just US but global---and huge giants in the private sectors) data-mine Facebook and all the other "social" networks.
To spy, simply put. To invade our sanctums. To have power over all people, to control. Yessiree, don't kid yourself: We live in a VERY wicked world, one that's getting worse
by the second. Some countries monitor their citizen's online activities, we all know that. But some countries, like the USA (who try to convince us that live within its borders that we
are "free"---what a crock), some of these governments in the West are more subtle and sneaky about it. They partner with big giants like Microsoft, infiltrate them, fund millions
and billions of $$$ to them, and use them, and many of the products they sell unsuspecting people, use them to gain more and more control over the individual.

So----at least with Win7 I'm a LOT more adept at shutting off certain services I don't like, more skilled at maintaining at least SOME privacy. No more Win8 for YN1F.
And who says Win8 is faster than Win7???----That's a crock. Win7 does everything faster than Win8. Heck, you can't even get most of your favorite programs to run on Win8!!
I spent almost 2 hours just trying to find a compatible antivirus software! My Trend Micro wasn't compatible. As many of my programs were not.

My Win7 desktop is back tonight, all fixed up again, and I'm happy about that. I have the utmost respect for you guys who are learning to skin the new OS. You are artists, it's what
you love to do. And some of the themes are outstanding for sure, like Grim's new HUD theme FOR 8. My hat's off to you guys. Just be careful with what you say and do on the Windows 8 machines.

YourNumbr1Fan (http://virtualcustoms.net/member.php/194932-YourNumbr1Fan), i'm not a bit surprised. microsour is going down. people have been pushing harder than ever to protect their privacy and the asswipes at microsour come out with 8. never seems to fail with microsour a dollar short and a day late as always.

Yeah your little fling refference is absolutely comical Jimmy lmao
In my opinion windows 8 is kinda like messing with the lady's of the night.
She might look really hot and feel really oh so good for the night :bunny2::bunny2::bunny2:
But in a couple of days from now your gonna wish you had went home alone :crying:
She might give you something penicillin won't fix. lmao2

.... another victim of Windows 8..... lmaolmaolmao

joking apart, Windows 8 as was developed during the alpha stages(tried all build leaked) was something fascinating looking good so far, with a lot of improvements under the hood
It is for sure faster than Windows 7..... just at boot time, other features; benchmark can say whichever is it's price, are the same
Introducing Metro at Developer preview, things are getting unstable and ugly, and let me say now at RTM does not have changed at all....
Metro Apps are still unstable, difficult to manage with touch even(tried all the machines available on the shops for valuating to buy it...), not customizable at all, full of empty spaces, with basic functions, not moveable, resizable and overlapping Windows

Are we talking about Windows 8 or Modern UI 1.0???

you cannot do everything you do previously with windows 7, you do not have start menu, start orb, metro apps are as it is...... nothing to do with it.....

A smartphone usability is different from a tablet one, in fact completely opposite with Computer one, so One size fits all is wrong, and Microsoft will pay the price in few months time....

I've used, all builds ofc... but release preview for the end(the last with Aero) with Classic Shell as a main OS, and huh, why i mod a OS to get it like previous OS, to get less?
Not all drivers and programs still works...

The main argument around the web is,"if you get used to it, you feel that is faster in doing every routine done in Windows7......"

that is Bu****t

you can get used to it just for the fashion and showing off to have the latest, does not mean is better and more usable...
Try just word or excel on Rt devices, it is painful and terrible:shock::shock:

...so if you want to install Windows 8, just to after that, use programs or tricks to get it as Windows 7, give up, nothing interesting and worthing of...
...so if you install it just because you like it and think is better, well it is just point of view.....

Have a nice day fellas

Your not the only one bud! There are litterally millions behind you, me being one that will not use 8 for the exact same reason. It does not matter what you do on the web, naughty or not. I am not going to lie, I have have looked at my fair share of porn on the web and you know what? IT'S NONE OF F#!KING MICROSOFTS BUSINESS what I do on the web and what I store on my computer. I mean you have to have balls the size of wrecking balls in order to believe that you can do this to people.

If I want to look a grannies with trannies that is no ones business but mine.

Another thing I do not like but actually do not know if it is true or not, I have heard through the grapevine that you cannot install anything but genuine software on Windows 8? meaning if you try to install a patch or a crack with any software you install that software will not work ....... does anyone know if this is true or not? Not that I make a habit out of it but some software is pretty f#!king expensive, the trials are very limited and I like to know EXACTLY what I am getting before I actually lay out the cash for it.

I WAS actually toying with the idea of going ahead and purchasing 8, I mean for the $40 how could you go wrong ...... right? but after reading YourNumbr1Fan's post it just pissed me off to no end all over again and Microsoft can just kiss my shiney white ass.:anger:

Of course i agree with all, leaving my personal files on the Skydrive server bothers me, even it are so much secure and i have nothing to hide, all my data important data is saved in a wallet like 1TB hd(TWO OF THEM FOR BACK UP) and i my 8 TB few HD desktop at home, even on my Notebook other 500 gig on it, secure, at hand even you do not have operator signal or wifi.....

Anyway to your question, we have to divide:
Windows RT based on ARM processor, which can ran only Modern UI apps from store, in desktop mode there is preinstalled some default programs, with the office pack, nothing more allowed, even browser, only Explorer.....
Windows 8, it install as a normal user, which has no all privileges, creating administrator account makes some Modern UI not working, but for some c****s you need to run as admin, but who knows it can work???
Can i say i installed cured photoshop and it works in release preview, so other programs....
Anyway, this is what i think of Windows 8...... just my old avatar...

Thanks for replying guys so quickly, and offering your own insights!

Dark Knight:My copy of the Stardock 'Start8' that I ran on the setup was cracked/patched, so I guess you CAN run pirated software on 8. But damn, that's IF you can find anything that you like which is compatible with 8!
I had some of my proggies just freeze-up, locking down the entire computer, and my computer is newer, a good one. They work fine on 7! Had to get AVG 2013, because my Trend Micro wasn't compatible....blahblahblah.
Just a pain in the arse. Why did the idiots have to change the source code so much that software has to be special-made for it???

You guys are spot-on. Win8, even though it has some cool 3D effects, is a disaster.:peace:

I think it's just because they were in such a damn rush to get it out, you know Microsoft is in competition with Apple who is in competition with Samsung who is in competition with ........ etc, etc, etc. They all want to have the latest and greatest if you know what I mean and don't really care anymore how they get it out, they just want it out fast, actually to the point where they are all stealing off each other ..... LMAO!

Take IE10 for instance, in the begining they were designing it for both Windows 7 AND 8, then all of a sudden IE10 for Windows 7 just got dropped in order to get it out on 8 in time, now Windows 7 users are stuck holding their hands on their asses waiting for them to finish up IE10 for them.

At least when Windows 7 was new, they waited until the majority of the software companies had worked their way through the source code to get their software to work with it before releasing 7, now it's like they just don't give a shit, everyone else can play catch up for all they care.

Microsoft is like the fat kid sitting at the end of the donut conveyor line with his mouth wide open

Haha!--Good video!

Yes, with Win7 most companies already had software that was ready. Because of Vista. So Win7 was fully functional and ready to rock-n-roll out of the box! After all, it's the same build as Vista basically. Vista perfected, right?
You're right, Dark Knight; M$ rushed Win8 like mad. Too bad for them. They'll never capture the smartphone/touchpad market anyway. Apple has it locked in. There are so many other ways M$ could have and should have designed
Win8......Maybe 9 or 10 will be great. You know, keeping in line with their legacy of fail-win-fail-win in operating systems. Still, no matter what, this forcing people to tie-in to all these social-networks is for the birds, you know?!

Yeah, I know what you mean, I have nothing against social networks ....... as long as I can use them at MY discretion, I don't want them tied into my OS.

Another satisfied user I see lol

Your#1fan sounds like your experience was just like mine the day I ran the tests between 7 and 8 with my buddy. it was funny Grim and myself were talking of win 8 just the other day cause I am getting ready to reformat here and he joked with me if I was gonna try and install win 8 my answer was simple bleh lol

As others have pointed out the big brother stuff I really don't like, but I honestly found no reasons to upgrade either like the rumours of it's faster are pure false unless as I said u have old hardware that might make it a bit faster on but I tell u what... When I was speaking to grim I said I have this old labby thats a dual core with 2 gigs of ram I would test it on to see I installed it today and it runs no faster then it did with win 7 on it lol. So even then I am not sure it's faster on old hardware.

As someone asked earlier about installing cracked software they heard rumors of it can be installed well it actually depends. The way win 8 is set up with mse built in now is if the computer finds something on the system it does not like it will uninstall it auto from the computer when ur rebooting and then will not let u reinstall that software is how they have it setup. It won't ask you or tell you it will just do it auto on it's own another way that MS is trying to control us. Can just see it now "os looking hey this guy has firefox installed and uses it all the time and never uses IE we want him to use IE, reboot bye bye firefox ha ha" that's how I picture ms in what they were thinking lol
