I) Presentation:

The creation of buttons is an important step in the construction of a complete visual style. You have tried to create your own buttons but you encounter difficulties ? The image doesn't display correctly ? Some bugs remain ? You don’t know what image you must modify ?

As you, I experienced all kind of difficulties. But I succeeded to overcome them, and I thought it might be interesting to share my advices in a tutorial.



II) Requires:
------------------------

- For all levels: beginners, advanced or experts
- For Vista and Windows 7 users. If you use Vista you must modify your Browseui.dll file; if you are a Windows 7, in this case, you must modify the ExplorerFrame.dll (both localized in system32 folder)
- You must have a PDF reader
- Requires a powerfull image editor, like Photoshop CS3 and
more (highly recommanded)
- Need also a resource editor, like Restorator 2007 or Reshack
- Create a restore point or make a backup of your browseui.dll or explorerframe.dll
